3 Steps to attend the meeting:

1. Register 
The registration deadline is February 27, 2017. Go to the registration page, fill in your information, and submit.

2. Pay Your Meeting Fees - Go to the payment page to remit for the meeting and the workshop.

AMI Meeting participant rate is $1095 US, which includes facility space, hospitality suite for two nights, Wednesday reception, lunches and breaks on Thursday and Friday, presenter fees and honoraria, as well as other administrative expenses. This rate also includes the costs for the Thursday night dinner and event. Additional Thursday night tickets can be purchased for guests for $200 each.

Consider attending the optional Wednesday afternoon workshop. The workshop fee is an additional $200. 

3. Reserve Your Accommodations
Attendees are responsible for arranging & paying for lodging.

We will meet and sleep at the brand new Luskin Conference Center. It was the vision of Meyer and Renee Luskin to create a meeting space where scholars, innovators, leaders and the diverse campus community build relationships, exchange ideas and make breakthroughs possible.

Room reservations are due by February 27, 2017. Rooms may not be eligible for group rates and/or may no longer be available after February 27. Please reserve your room quickly and they will be allocated on a first reserved basis.  

All reservations must be guaranteed with a major credit card and accompanied with a first night room deposit. 48 hours to arrival, the credit card will be automatically charged the remaining balance of the reservation for full payment prior to arrival.

Wednesday, March 29
Luskin Conference Center on the UCLA campus
  • All regular meeting activities located at the Luskin Conference Center
  • Pre-meeting Workshop (1:00-4:30pm)* - Experiential session with AMI innovators co-creating music. We will take a short trip to the Village recording studio for a 3.5 hour custom workshop led by producer Doug Petty. The Village is an iconic site with an amazing history with recordings from Fleetwood Mac, The Rolling Stones, B.B. King, Bob Dylan, Lady Gaga and many others.
  • Newcomers Orientation (5:00pm-6:15pmfor first time AMI attendees
  • Welcome Reception and Introductions (6:30pm-9:00pm)
  • The Hospitality Suite will be open (9:00pm-11:30pm) for AMI attendees and their guests

Thursday, March 30
Luskin Conference Center on the UCLA campus
  • AMI Beg, Brag, What If (BBWI) sessions are featured throughout the day (8:30am-5:00pm)
  • Positive Turbulence Presenter - Daniel Seeff, Program Director, Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Performance 
  • Envisioning AMI's Future: a special discussion to be held Thursday afternoon
  • Thursday Evening: a special evening dinner at LA's premiere jazz club, Herb Alpert's Vibrato Grill Jazz with a performance by the Christian Sands Trio. Christian will also join us Thursday afternoon to share some insight prior to his performance
  • The Hospitality Suite will be open (after return from Vibrato until 11:30pm) for AMI attendees and their guests

Friday, March 31
Luskin Conference Center on the UCLA campus
  • AMI Beg, Brag, What If (BBWI) sessions are featured throughout the morning (8:30am start)
  • Positive Turbulence Presenter - Ratna Shashidhar, Director for the Center for Bio/Molecular Science and Engineering (CBMSE) at the Naval Research Laboratory.
  • Special performance by Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Ensemble
  • Meeting concludes with a Newcomer’s Fishbowl experience followed by lunch
  • 1:30pm meeting closing
