Once a year, in person, somewhere new, for three days that change the calendar and three times per year virtually. The rituals below have been refined over four decades to turn strangers into lifelong collaborators.
Positive Turbulence Speakers
Voices from the periphery. Speakers who jolt us into thinking differently across disciplines, sectors, and generations.
Beg, Brag, What-If (BBWI)
Members share what they need, what they’ve shipped, or the question that won’t leave them alone. The room responds in real time with intros, ideas, and immediate help.
Gifts in the Room
Each meeting begins with an exploration of “the gifts in the room.” Not your job title, not your job description, but how you see the world.
Hospitality suites
Late-evening or post-meeting (for virtual sessions), off-program spaces where the real conversations happen. Members host topics they care about, and the community follows with curiosity.

Each newcomer is matched with an experienced member for a pre-event call, an in-person check-in, and an open door for the year that follows.

Hosted at NC State’s Plant Sciences Initiative, a place built on the same cross-sector trust and open exchange we’re there to explore, this gathering does the hard, generative work most leaders can’t do inside their own organizations. You’ll leave with ideas, connections, and clarity you couldn’t find anywhere else.
